Crave by Melissa Darnell

Goodreads Summery : Bloodlust. Magic. Forbidden secrets.

When Savannah Colbert returns to school after a mystery illness, the fact that she has changed is clear to everyone. None more so than every school girls golden boy Tristan Coleman. Ever since their first kiss in fourth grade, Savannah and Tristan have been cruelly and inexplicably banned from associating with each other. Now, as the pair navigate the tricky social life of high school, the truth is about to be revealed.

As Savannah learns of their paranormal ancestry and Tristan deals with the repercussions of her new powers, the relationship they have been denied for so long becomes utterly irresistible and all consuming. Like Romeo and Juliet centuries before them, Savannah and Tristan’s love is destined to fail; and Tristan’s powerful magical family, the Clann, are watching.

My Rating : 4 of 5 stars

My Thoughts : Bloodlust. Magic. Forbidden Secrets.

Sounds conventional topic, isn’t it? Well, let me tell you, it’s not like that. A whole brand new novel based on traditional theme of vampires and forbidden love.

Tristan and Savannah are forbidden since birth, but nothing could stop them from being attracted to each other. Son of The Clann leader, and daughter of a family that has been banished from The Clann, Tristan and Savannah are not even supposed to be friends, but they could not resist falling in love. When the truth behind Savannah’s birth is revealed, it can destroy peace between The Clann and Vampires, also brings threat of a great war. Torn between loyalty and love, now the starcrossed lovers has to went to several tests and if one fails, other will too.

The book is divided into alternative perspective of Tristan and Savannah, so we receive glimpse of both their hearts and minds, also get to know their characters better. The author has created a beautiful world of supernaturals based on old myths, I found myself enjoying this so much. How the old cultures of witches and vampires have been blended into modern day civilization, the author featured them well.

Savanna was sweet, reserved and shy, Tristan was brave and sweet, needless to say unearthly handsome in his golden curls. And yes, both were unbelievably brave, their strength was love for each other that helped them to overcome difficulties they faced. I found the romance adorable yet burring. They might have been forbidden but nothing could keep them apart. I really enjoyed the dream sequences in romance part and how their relationship developed when they walked into each other’s dream.

Crave is a pure paranormal teen romance which I found entertaining and intriguing. The Plot was Interesting as well as the characters were likable. I loved how the book started describe a
do-or-die situation which was quite pulse rising and then drive into flash back where we actually see the whole story. Crave is kind of novel no paranormal romance lover want to miss.
